Why PADI Wreck Diver?

You've got to be kidding! Here in Pattaya, Thailand we have 4 wonderful Ship Wrecks that can be dived very safely with the correct wreck training. Shipwrecks here in Pattaya are a large attraction and used a lot for training in many dive skills. Pattaya has the Hardeep (World War II Ship), The HTMS Kram (Thai battle ship), the HTMS Kut (Thai battle ship), and the Bremen, and old wooden ship. All of these wreck dives are absolutely superb not just for the wrecks but the large marine life that frequents them.

The lure of exploring sunken vessels, airplanes and automobiles is something most divers can't resist. The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course introduces you to shipwreck diving and helps you develop the skills and knowledge necessary for safe and fun wreck diving. This will open up many scuba dive sites world wide.

Your Adventures In Diving Wreck Adventure Dive may count towards this Specialty certification at instructor discretion. This Specialty certification also counts as one of five Specialty certifications required for your Master Scuba Diver certification (MSD).

* Wreck penetration-training dives are limited to within the light zone and within 40 metres/130 feet from the surface, vertical and horizontal distance included. If the wreck used for training is located in deep water (over 18 metres/60 feet), the Deep Diver rating is recommended as a prerequisite for the Wreck Diver program.

For PADI Dive Instructors: Mermaids have witnessed that the dive industry prefers to take dive instructors on for dive employment from the MSDT level and higher. Although it is possible to achieve dive jobs directly from an IDC (Instructor Development Course), dive employers are more likely to offer a dive position to a diver that has more experience. The MSDT scuba diving rating displays that the dive instructor has good experience teaching diving. The MSDT internship with PADI specialty diver courses can assist in your dive career.
